When Wry Baby set out to give the classic baby book a face lift, we realized there were some things that couldn’t be thrown out with the bath water. This is a peek at The Wry Baby New Parents’ Fun Book’s version of the classic baby book list of firsts. You know, first baby smile, first baby words, first dirty diaper. All the important baby facts you must record for future generations. Well, first off, Wry Baby makes the list fun to fill by making it a fun sticker project! Here’s another peek at one of the fun activities from our new book, The Wry Baby New Parents’ Fun Book (Due June 2). One of the sticker activities for the new Mom and Dad is all about baby proofing your stuff. No, not making it “safer”, just marking your territory so Baby will know exactly what’s yours and what’s his/hers. If Baby sees that your new Blu-Ray DVD player is clearly marked with a nice, big “MINE” sticker, perhaps Baby will think twice about filling it with Cheerios. You never know! You laugh now, but later you’ll be thanking Wry Baby.

Following the success of Safe Baby Handling Tips and Safe Baby Pregnancy Tips, we thought we’d go in a different direction and refresh a traditional baby gift that was in dire need of a face-lift. We’re super excited about the upcoming release of the new Wry Baby book, The New Parents’ Fun Book. It’s scheduled for an early June release (you can pre-order it now here), but we got our samples in early and we wanted to give you a peek at what we’ve been working on the past year here at Wry Baby.

The New Parents’ Fun Book is essentially a reinvention of the baby book. Only instead of jotting down just facts, it offers a fun way to record your baby’s statistics along with lots of information about what the parents were up to during baby’s first year. This is all done through 96 pages of games, puzzles, journal pages and crafts.

Here’s a peek at some of the pages from The New Parents’ Fun Book. We styled it after classic kid activity books from the late 50′s-early 60′s, which is pretty obvious from the intro spread. The Curseword Puzzle consists of words you won’t be able to fling around the house once Junior arrives, and the Daddy’s Favorite pages let Dad fill in his favorite bands, hobbies, movies and TV shows. You can see how the Fun Book will be a hoot to read 20 years from now.
