It’s mid-January, which means it’s time for us to go nuts getting ready for the big New York International Gift Fair (Jan. 30-Feb. 4). We’ll have a ton of new fun stuff to launch (more Snapsuits™!). For weeks we’ve been designing our brains out. Below are some snaps we took of some sketches & doodles. Super rough, but that’s how we roll until final ink hits paper and paper hits scanner. Did you know all our designs are hand-drawn by Wry Baby artisans? True!

Well, it might as well be a nutshell. Despite launching the most new fun baby clothes and accessories ever, when we broke down the new booth every single thing we offer fit in this little box! Crazy!

It was sort of all a blur. That’s how the big August show has gone in the past and it was nice (“in this economy”) to have it back! For the first time, stores from all over the world were introduced to Wry Baby’s signature Snapsuit™ in three new colors (Grape, Tomato and Gooseberry) and with 13 fun, new designs! They also come in some sexy, brand new packaging that’ll be easier to gift wrap and easier to spot from across a crowded boutique. Below I’m posting some scenese from the show and some of the favorite designs you’ll see in a fun store near you around the end of September. Keep your eyes peeled!

Of the 15 new funny baby clothes and accessories we launched this week, Future Cougar was considered the best. But it was close! Pretty much everything we launched was a hit and a half. Above is a nice shot of our new, slim packaging, too.

At the end of the NYIGF, we usually grab some beers and head to the roof of our favorite hotel on the Upper West Side for a little R&R before heading home. Here’s a shot of our 3rd Grade Chess Champion schooling his Pop. And, yes, that’s a Mario Bros. themed chess board!

Argh! We Wry Baby folk be lucky to be spotted in Earnshaw’s Magazine. Aye, and it be our new Pirate Hooded Towel that be gettin’ all the glory! Ye won’t be findin’ it in stores, ye scurvy dogs, until later this year. But if ye be a land lubbin’ habedashery o’ sorts, ye can set sail fer the NYIGF ‘n get a glass eye full o’ our fare.

Kelly and I loves us our iPhones. It’s no secret that we also love being parents. So it’s only fitting we should meld our favorite life-changing things together: iPhone + Parenting = ?

Wry Baby’s been working super hard with the good people at Paze Interactive to bring you a little prezzie for your pocket. It’s in Apples approval hopper now and we expect to launch in Apple’s iTunes App Store in a couple of weeks. Anyone care to guess what our first Wry Baby iPhone App might be? The first person who correctly guesses what our iPhone app is (in the comments to this post) will be sent a FREE original, analog version of our Wry Baby iPhone app’s inspiration.* Go nuts and have fun!

Sunday is opening day at the New York International Gift Fair and we’re all ready. All our fun baby shower gifts, funny baby clothes and accessories are set for viewing and our new cool baby outfits are front and center for their big debut. It was a busy first day, but we managed to squeeze out some video of Wry Baby’s first day at the 2009 New York International Gift Fair.

Coming to the NYIGF? Stop by the JUST KIDS STUFF section, booth 1740-1742 and get in on the ACTION! Get it? See what I did there? “Action” as in “lights, camera, ACTION”? Oh, so much cleverness to behold at the always fun Wry Baby booth!

Hey from NY! While it took longer to get here from NC than from CA to set up for the NYIGF, we’re here, we’re set up and we’re rarin’ to go. Here’s a little video we made on the side to show what it’s like to go through setting up a booth. We left out most of the boring stuff (we hope), which means the video is wicked short. But it does contain a few pointers for those looking for some juicy trade show tips. Enjoy! And look for more throughout the show next week!

It’s that time of the year where we stack discarded, dried out Chritmas trees in the middle of our enemies front lawns and set them on fire. It’s also about the time we get revved up for Wry Baby’s big trip to the NYIGF (the big, juicy New York International Gift Fair). Yes, Wry Baby Dave will be taking off to the Big Apple to show off all the goodies Wry Baby made for Spring 2009. What do we have up our sleeves? Oh, lots and lots of fun stuff to be sure. Of course we can’t show you until game time, Silly, but leading up to the show, I’ll share with you the process we go through in designing our fun line of baby shower gifts and funny baby clothes. Won’t that be a hoot ‘n’ a half?
