Ooh, this is going to be fun! When we’re making funny baby clothes and fun baby shower gifts in San Francisco, local designers would have annual Sample Sales all the time. It was always so fun to go and meet the folks in charge of making stuffs you loves. So, for the first time in our 8 years in the biz, we’re throwing our First-Ever Super Funtastic Wry Baby Sample Sale!

After so long making funny baby clothes, accessories, games for new parents, books for baby showers and all sorts of baby shower gifts, you tend to get a lot of production stuff piling up. Factory samples, ideas that were put on back burners never to return to the front burners again, sizing samples, printing samples, close-out stuff we’re too lazy or too sentimental to actually fully close-out and all kinds of funny shower gift knick-knacks. All those fun baby gifts will be out on the tables at Wry Baby’s Mooresville, NC design headquarters this weekend along with a smattering of popular favorites that we threw in the mix for fun.

Kelly and I will be on hand during the sale to spread cheer and sign copies of our best-selling baby books, Safe Baby Handling TIps, Safe Baby Pregnancy Tips and the New New Parents’ Fun Book. If someone told you that you were signing copies of your new baby book at “the Towers in Huntersville”. woud you think they meant Tower Records? That’s totally what I thought (even though Kelly said they went strictly online ). But there I was yesterday afternoon at the towers in Huntersville, NC. I’m still not really sure why I was there, in 105 degrees of heat along a gravel equestrian path about .5 miles away from a horse show. But our publisher, Running Press, must have their reasons. I did meet a couple of ladies on horseback who stopped for a chat (“Hi”). And they had some pretty big horses which meant lots of shade! Believe you me, I’m totally bringing water to the next signing!

Wry Baby co-founder, Dave Sopp, was burning the midnight oil at Wry Baby’s New Parents’ Fun Book book signing last night at the BP on Highway 150 in Mooresville, NC. Thanks to all those who honked as they drove by! We really appreciate the support.

Our reinvention of the classic baby journal has had a successful launch and it’s such a great little shower gift that compliments all of Wry Baby’s funny baby clothes, unique shower gifts and cool baby gifts.

I told Steve, the BP night manager, that, in return for hosting our signing, I’d give a shout out about the New Management at BP Hwy. 150. That and they are very proud to finally have “Fuelman”. Whatever that is. I still don’t know what that is.

Wry Baby’s publisher, Running Press, has pulled out all the stops and has scheduled a book signing tour to promote our new book, The Wry Baby New Parents’ Fun Book. It’s a very aggressive tour that we’re told will take us all over the place this Summer. Our first signing was close to home (luckily!) but the second was a little further off. Monday afternoon, Wry Baby designer and illustrator, Dave Sopp, was signing copies of The New Parents’ Fun Book at the tennis courts at the Mooresville War Memorial. Thanks to those who showed and a big congrats to Nancy who finally beat Susan, who is said to often cheat to win. Way to go, Nancy!
