Our son’s elementary school asked us to throw down and organize a “station” for their Fall Festival. We decided to do a photo booth, where kids stick their heads into a painted scene, we take a snap and print it right there on a portable printer. It was a fun project and didn’t take long at all. The only hang up was, in the deep South, Halloween is a seriously verboten topic. So out went our plans for the way fun Headless Ghost scene and in came our treacly, less threatening Scarecrow in the Field scene. Either way it was a blast and the kids loved it. Try it for yourself when you celebrate “Fall, not the Devil’s Birthday” this year.

Our preference was to do this fun headless graveyard scene. But then, we’re weird.

Just an idea, some paint and some plywood is all you need for this fun, Fall craft!

Baby is excited to visit the car wash this week. The possibility of meeting a Movie Star or even an Indian Chief is titillating to say the least.

Having witnessed the media coverage of adult behavior amidst your country’s Health Care debate, baby is convinced that adults have lost it and it is time for the Baby Revolution. Lock any firearms away, keep sharp objects out of reach and FOX News turned off until this blows over.

Our funny baby book, the best-selling Safe Baby Handling Tips crops up in the darndest places. A fan sent us this photo of our funny baby book filed in the Child Psychology section at a Borders Books in California. I suppose that our handling tips can be helpful in some way. For the tragically idiotic, perhaps.

Did you know an author (or his/her publisher) has no real control over where your book is filed in those big box bookstores? True. Our other funny baby book, (our hilarious take on the baby journal, The New Parents’ Fun Book) is permanently housed a few books away from Dr. Spock in the Child Development section at both Borders and Barnes and Noble. Not with the other baby journals at all. Weird, no?
