I was originally going to obsess over an early 1980’s Halloween flexi disc promo from a childhood favorite of mine, Winchell’s Donuts. It’s a great little story record full of scary tales, trick or treating safety tips and a healthy dose of elegantly placed product promotion. Their jingle at the end is the cutest ever. “A Winchell’s Donut really really does it…donut?” They don’t write them like that anymore, folks! But as I started trying to find where I’d found that fun link, I came across this youtube tribute to the Winchell’s Donut experience. Now, I haven’t been in a Winchell’s since I was a kid in the O.C. in the 70’s, but apparently not a lot not a single thing has changed! Seriously, it’s time travel.
